A signature Inland Northwest holiday tradition on Lake Coeur d'Alene, about 35 minutes east of Spokane in the shared Spokane-Coeur d'Alene metro. More than 1.5 million lights blanket the resort and shoreline, and 40-minute 'Journey to the North Pole' cruises carry families across the lake to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus at an illuminated North Pole with dancing elves and reindeer. The season opens with a lakeside lighting ceremony and fireworks the Friday after Thanksgiving.
