The Rio Grande Valley's anchor holiday attraction: the small border city of Hidalgo wraps itself in millions of lights for one of the largest holiday events in Texas, now formatted as an enchanted roughly 2.5-mile illuminated trail running from Payne Arena through the city center, enjoyed from your own vehicle, with a walk-through Illuminated Holiday Maze and Santa's Village, narrated train tours and even helicopter rides. 2025 marked the festival's 34th year.
