The Fresno Chaffee Zoo is transformed after dark by hundreds of hand-built, illuminated Chinese-style lanterns - many shaped like animals - glowing along the zoo paths, blended with Lunar New Year lantern themes. The walk-through event adds live entertainment, holiday food and drink, purchasable Santa photos with a custom zoo border, and real reindeer visiting late November through the end of the year. It is a lights-and-lanterns experience after the animals have bedded down, not an animal visit.
