One of Ohio's oldest courthouse lightings: more than 18,000 bulbs (about 8,800 on the 1876 Licking County Courthouse itself, plus thousands more across the lawn and decorations) outline the building on the public square in downtown Newark. Free and run by a volunteer nonprofit committee since 1949, with a train display and a Candyland-themed gazebo, lit the Friday after Thanksgiving and glowing through the season.
