Downtown Boulder lights the holidays from late November through December: the Pearl Street Mall and Civic Area glow with thousands of lights and illuminated ornaments, the Boulder County Courthouse gets a grand illumination with a lighted-canopy plaza and photo-op holiday bear and reindeer, and the Civic Area features 275,000+ LEDs from the 'Let It Snow Playground' to the 'Candy Cane Forest' at the bandshell. Season events include the Switch on the Holidays kickoff, Cookie Crawl, St. Nick on the Bricks, the electric Tebo Train and the Lights of December Parade. A lighted star shines from Flagstaff Mountain above town, a tradition since 1947.
