Historic Golden turns into a Christmas-movie set each winter: thousands of twinkling lights line the banks of Clear Creek, the Billy Drew Bridge, Golden History Park, Parfet Park and the shops of Washington Avenue, with a giant lit evergreen at the Golden Welcome Center. The Candlelight Walk (first Friday of December) sends carolers strolling Washington Ave by candlelight, followed by the Holiday Parade and Jingle on the Avenue character day. Creek-side lights come down at the end of January; downtown white lights and the Welcome Center tree shine through Feb 15.
